How can the store signifure for a component be erased?
I do not recall a way to delete signatures but you can replace them. This topic in the old FAQs discusses signatures in version 3:

There is also "Clear Section Signatures" in the Tree menu which, like the name states, delete all of the signatures for the selected Section. This is probably more than you want. :)
I wanted to clear all stored signatures for one component. Or replace them
In WS 3.5, I am still unable to replace an individual signature or a complete set of signatures. The Only way I think i am able to do it is to erase component completely and redo it.
But really, haven't worked with the software long enough. I might be missing something I'm going to go over things again and again.....
