I'll jump in before Curtis on this one.
It all depends on what version of Windows you want to run Workstation on and do you want Tech support on it.
I got the most recent version because as written about on this Forum I wanted to connect a Keysight DMM to the output of my Scanner. Plus a Keysight E4980AL LCR meter connected in the same way.

The ProTrack (USB only) and Scanner are still supported in the current version of Huntron Workstation 4.3. You can contact your local Huntron distributor and inquire about a license.

Older versions such as Workstation 3.5.4 can still be used but not with newer Windows versions. You have to use Windows XP and earlier. Workstation 3.5.4 is linked in this Forum thread:

As Curtis says if you want to run your ProTrack on Workstation 4.3 you will need the USB version.
I see the USB adaptor cards are still available on EBay for $95.00.

If the ProTrack serial number prefix is KJ3 then Huntron Workstation 4.3 cannot be used. Workstation 3.5.4 may be your only option. There is more discussion about KJ3 ProTracks in this Forum thread:

I need a detailed user manual for this device.

I downloaded Workstation 3.5.4 and installed it on Windows XP operating system, but I am getting edc1000std error.

When you install 3.5.4 you need to do it from a simple path/directory name on the c: drive. Uninstall the software. Create a folder called "huntron" on the c: drive, unzip the downloaded file to that location then try installing.

I completed the installation.
The error I see now is
Hardware error
Unable to open Loop Compensation data file
Run Loop Calc in Control-Maintenance-Protrack I Diagnostics

I follow this step but I still get the same error.

Using the software with the ProTrack requires the Loop Calc file to run. Perform the Loop Calc in the Workstation diagnostics. When done restart Workstation and try connecting to the ProTrack.

I perform Loop Calc and restart the workstation. It asks me to do loop calc again

I completed the Loop Calc process. I restarted Workstation. It asks me to do loop calc again.

The file that is created when Loop Calc is run (for a ProTrack only) is called LCPRO.TXT.
If you run the Loop Calc with the ProTrack and ProTrack Scanner connected (Scanner connected to the ProTrack with the RJ45 interface cable, the BNC cables between the ProTrack and Scanner and powered on) then file created is called LCSPRO.TXT.
I do not recall where these files are stored for Workstation 3.5.4 so search you PC for these files to make sure they are created.

Hi
The file LCSPRO.TXT on my Workstation 4.3 Ver. is located here:-
Windows C:\users\public\public documents\huntron hardware files\LCSPRO.TXT
I guess this is the same with Workstation 3.5.4.

James, do you still have 3.5.4. installed? Maybe you can locate the LCSPRO file created by that version?

Yes I have it installed on an old PC.
I will fire it up and let you know.

Hi Curtis and Cyberg3n
Fired up my old PC with Windows XP and both Workstation 3.5.4. & 4.2 installed and searched for the file LCSPRO.TXT.
Can't find it.
Cyberg3n when you finish running LOOP CAL does it mention a file name?
If so I can search for that.
I guess if pushed I could connect this PC to my ProTrack through the printer / Centronics cable and run LOOP CALC myself to see what happens.

I remember when I ran loop Cal for my protrack I had a hard time only because I did not know the process.
Are you sure loop Calc ran all the way through.
Once the tests finish and protrack passes all the tests.
Only once all tests are passed the software goes through another process on its own. At the end it write to the protrack. Then it asks to go to hardware setup and select OK.

Files I created manually. Then I did the Loop calculation. It works smoothly now. Thank you very much for your interest.

Now I need a user manual for protrack I and Scanner I. The novelty of the device turned out to be too complicated for me. It would be useful to read a user manual.
You will also need a user guide for Workstation 3.5.4.

Hi
Get the Product Manuals Disc from Huntron.
I have Version 3.0 that has the manauls for Workstation 3.5.4. and the ProTrack 10 / 20.
As Curtis Tech Support he should be able to help with that.

The Product manuals CD Part Number: 06-5217
You would need to order through your local distributor.

You may find some of the videos on the Huntron YouTube channel to be useful. There are none using ProTracks but the method still applies.

You can learn to drive a car to pass the test, but once you throw away the L plates practice makes perfect and you deal with situations without a thought.
The same goes with a ProTrack + Scanner just get a bunch of Capacitors, Resistors, Diodes & Zener Didoes and play.
Experiment with SCR's and Triacs switching them on and off with the Pulse Generator.
Fault finding won't be so easing on circuit boards with lots of microprocessor & memory chips.
Try some power supply circuit boards but make sure all the capacitors discharged first.
A circuit with old style TTL IC's  (7400 series), transistors and capacitor, & resistors on board is a good start.
But note with IC's different manufactures will give similar but different results.
Connect the COM to the ground / NEG or 5 Volt lines.
Get two circuit boards exactly the same, then short anything on the solder side then turn over and fault find the short circuit using just the ProTrack & Scanner. Scan through several pins using Scanner Mode on the ProTrack menu. And you don't need the added complication of Workstation to do that.
