In the Diagnostics you can select the type of display for your 3200S although you may have tried this already.

Strange Huntron ignores Christmas on their website.
Maybe not PC (Politically correct) in these over sensitive times we live in!
Hi James,
The Huntron website home page would have a festive update during the holidays but I guess it didn't happen for 2025.
I hope you had a great holiday and all the best for 2026!
Cheers!

Yes, I think so. Actually, I have an idea, but I need to test it. My idea is that for low voltage levels, the gain resistance needs to be high so that the gain is low. Nevertheless, thank you all for your interest.

Could be a case of trial & error to see what Resistor value does the job.

Current Software - Huntron Workstation 4.X / Beep mode.

Hi
As the firmware on a Huntron 3200S Tracker can be updated would be useful to have the facility I had  on my Polar T6000 impedance signature analyser that I used  in the early 1990'S. The T6000 was similar to the early Huntron Trackers, but at the time the Polar looked a better buy.
It had one very useful facility that enabled you to probe manually one known good PCB with a faulty PCB without looking up at the the trace on the screen. You just just set deviation (V, R, & F) and the required tolerance.
And when probing the two PCB's any difference outside of the selected tolerance and the T6000 beeped at you.
In this mode you could keep your eyes on the two PCB's without looking up at the screen.

Assuming that a firmware update might enable the above mode, but unfortunately I may not be able to do this on my early 3200S Tracker as the firmware for the Sharp Touch screen does not work with more recent versions of the firmware. That is the touch screen part of the LCD does not work with firmware updates. Would be interested to hear from anyone else who might have this problem with an early 3200S. With the version it does have,  the touch screen works fine and very pleased with the performance of the 3200S Tracker.

Hi AI1234
So you have a multilayer PCB there with a short.
Excellent piece of equipment the Polar 950.
Although Polar no longer manufacture the Tone Ohm 950, last time I enquired they could still supply the test probes.
Sorry Huntron its better than the one you manufactured.
Have you tried the "Plane stimulus connection" shorts detection method on this PCB.
That is with four plane stimulus leads at the four corners of the PCB?
A company over here telfordelectronics@btinternet.com  supply the operator manual for this piece of equipment that Polar no longer manufacture.

I am having a resistance of about 740 ohms when red lead is on VCC,  black on Vss, and about 525 ohms when leads are swapped on several ICs and across several bypass capacitors. Huntron ProTrack shows it as a shorted diode between this + & - supply rail. I think this is a short, since there is a blown fuse here connected to this rail. but that remains to be proven. I been removing component off the board. it does not seem to be any of the component on the board causing this low resistance between + & - IC supply voltages. when components are removed their input voltage supply pins measures in M ohms.  scanned the board with thermal camera and voltage input, nothing. The board seems to be several layers. with the polar 950, the short indicator tone changes tone when pressing on the board and minimally whopping it, indicating more or less resistance. I wish I had a good board of the same, but they are expensive. any input would be greatly appreciated.

Shorts in the M Ohms range show breakdown of insulation between connector pins under the connector housing.
I have attached a few examples of problems found under connector housings.

not for workstation but for the trackers: How about a function that allows to hold the signature in Tracker's screen while measuring the reference or dut to compare. sometimes computer is not available and when dealing with very small contacts, hard to reach areas.....
