README for Huntron Workstation 32bit ******** NOTE ON WINDOWS XP SP2 ****** Version 3.5.3 supports Windows XP SP2 Resolved issues with Pin group editting and Common pins during Connect. ******** NOTE TO RP388 USERS ********* Versions 3.5.1 and later do not support the RP388. To use the RP388 use an earlier version of the software. ******** NOTE FOR ALL USERS OF VERSIONS BEFORE 3.5 ********* The Range name feature has been removed. All ranges are now set by selecting the Voltage, Resistance and Frequency at each Window (Preferences, Pins and Global Pin Data). Components previously created will maintain their range names until the Pins are editted. The ability to update backups on Multiple floppy disks has been removed. If the disk are reused they will be overwritten. To keep the data restore it first or use a different set of floppies. ******** NOTE FOR ALL USERS OF VERSIONS BEFORE 3.4 ********* The name of the application has been change to Huntron Workstation (32bit). This causes all of the registry entries from your previous version to not be carried over to this version. Be sure to set your preferences after installing this version. You will also need to preform a Camera Offset for each slot if using a Prober. ************ Installation Note for Windows 95 ************ This version does not support Windows 95. Either install the 16bit version supplied in a folder on this CD or upgrade to a newer version of Windows. ************ Installation Note for Windows NT ************ This version does not support Windows NT. Upgrade to a newer version of windows before installing or install the older version of this software located in the "32bit Version 3.2.4 NT" folder on this CD. ********************* SigAssist (tm) ******************** Huntron Workstation now contains SigAssist(tm). This feature can be turned on in the Preferences window. ************ NOTE FOR Prober IIc and IIIc USERS **************** If you are running the software on a non U.S. Version of Windows, you may experience problems with the Sensorary Frame Grabber. If so, follow the instructions below: 1. Click Start, Run, type in "regedt32" 2. Select the window titled HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. 3. From menu select Security/Permissions 4. Highlight the user that is currently logged in (it will probably be highlighted by default). 5. Check the box on the intersection of "Allow" column and "Full Control" row. 6. Check the box "Allow inheritable permissions...". 7. Click on "Apply" button. 8. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI 9. Find a folder that starts with VEN_109E&DEV_036E&SUBSYS_03116000 (for 311 board) or VEN_109E&DEV_036E&SUBSYS_06116000 (for 611 board) or VEN_109E&DEV_036E&SUBSYS_07116000 (for 711 board) and expand it. 10.You will see one or more folders there with names looking like (but not necessarily exactly like) the following: 3&61aaa01&0&68. 11. For each of those folders do the following: a) click on the folder name. The device information will be displayed in the right panel. b) find and doubleclick on the item DeviceDesc. It should have the value that says "Sensoray 311 Frame Grabber" (or 611, or 711). c) append text to this string so that it says the following "Sensoray X11 Frame Grabber #x bus_0,dev_y,func_0", where x,y should be unique numbers for every folder found in step 10. For example, the first folder may have the following Sensoray X11 Frame Grabber #1 bus_0,dev_0,func_0, the second - Sensoray X11 Frame Grabber #2 bus_0,dev_1,func_0, etc. 12. Close regedt32. 13. Reboot. ***************** NOTE FOR 5100DS USERS ****************** Version 3.3 fixed a problem with the BOTH package type. Components with the BOTH package type, the Advance Component Connection set to Prober and a Prober is not used, caused the 5100DS to scan the component as a DIP package. This problem has been fixed but learns created in older versions will have the back row of pins on these BOTH packages stored in the reverse order. Testing against these learns with the current version will causes signature differences on the back pins. To fix, replace the learns on the BOTH package components with this problem. For more information contact Huntron Tech Support. ****** Note for Tracker 5100DS, 5300 and 5500 users ****** For Win 98/ME, the new driver can still use a National Instruments PC2 card. However, the user must now select an interrupt on the card with the jumpers on the card. A user needs to look at the device manager in Win 95/98 and determine which interrupts are available and the set the jumpers on the PC2 card for an interrupt that is available. If a user has a new card such as the PCI-GPIB which sits on the PCI bus, the interrupt and DMA channel are automatically selected. The same is true for National Instrument's PCMCIA and AT-GPIB/TNT(Plug and Play) cards. If the user has a AT-GPIB/TNT card (not plug and play), again the interrupt has to be set with the jumpers on the card. For NT, the PC2 card is not supported. National Instruments does not currently support the PC2 card under NT and will not upgrade the driver to support the PC2 card in the future. The same info about setting interrupts is true for the rest of the cards. ****************** Note for DSI700 users ***************** This 32bit software does not support the DSI700.
