Post by: volken on August 29, 2024, 07:52:32 AM
Hello
Maybe someone can help me I have no trace  visible I checked the 6.3voltage and HV they are ok.
Is it possible that the CRT is defect ?

Thanks

Hi
Apologise if you have already done this, but have you gone into the menu and turned up the intensity?
I doubt the Tube has failed.

Hi
Might be worth reprogramming the Flash Prom.
I have written about this on this Forum before.
Curtis (Tech support) can email you the program.

Also try adjusting the horizontal or vertical trace position. The trace may be off screen.

Hello Volken!

I would like a picture of the CRT HV power supply PCB !  (Protrack, inside on the back wall)

Thanks.

hi, was this a working unit you've had and problem just happened or you got this unit as is?
do you know if all the boards are there inside. if all in place.
I remember I had no trace on a KJ3, I made some adjustment for trace alignment in both the advanced mode and regular and on the inside board (3 potentiometers on the tube board) turned up the intensity and move right, left, up, down and trace appeared.  I think one of those potentiometers make the trace completely fade away.

The HV power supply may have failed. Does it have a large silver module on it (Electronetics, I think)?

just to make sure, is this a ProTrack I, model 20 or 20B?

In this case with a high voltage issue, the model 20 and 20B would be the same. I don't recall exactly when but a redesigned HV supply that did not use the Electronetics module was used in the KJ4 units and possibly KJ3's.
