I think it would work for windows 7 too, only if I remembered what I did. but it really works on my windows 10 System. the only thing, "help" does not work. when help is selected in any window it opens the web browser on a Microsoft page stating Help is not supported... . WS 3.5.4 functionally works with my ProTrack, hand probing and scanning both work on my windows 10 system.

Last post by admin - October 19, 2024, 11:04:50 AMGood job! The 2700 was our first Tracker with a LCD and was not very good as far as display speed. If you are used to CRT Trackers than the 2700 is less than stellar.

Hey Dummy, if the fuses are blown replace them first, DoH!
It appears to be working now. I ran it through the diagnostic test procedure and it runs all the way through without issue and using the Huntron ASA test board I am getting what I would expect to be good signals. I have not yet compared with our 2 workhorse 2000's.
I do have yet another question, the signal line on the display is 'pulsing', is this normal behavior for the 2700? (We bought this machine used and it has never been used since it was not working so we do not know what the expected behavior is supposed to be.)
Personally I like the green phosphorous displays, no flicker, no pixelation, no pulsing. Just good clean signals. We also have VI Curve Tracer setup on an old Tektronix and it is bright, instant response and super clean signaling.

We have been using the Huntron 2000's for 30+ years without any issues. We mostly test military avionics boards and have never damaged any components. Its not the voltage that will kill a component it is the Amperage and the Huntron puts out an extremely low amperage signal so as not to harm any components.
We currently have two Huntron 2000's in daily operation that keep on trucking like battle hardened front line soldiers.
I think you might be wise to digest the entire users manual that is available freely online. If you need a copy I can gladly send you a pdf copy. You might want to study chapter 9 as it deals with BJT's and it is possible to upset the Hfe rating of a BJT during testing. These are temporary changes for the most part and can mostly be avoided by testing in the Med2 to High range. Take note on page 9.2
Other then that I don't think your going to damage anything, if it where a issue we would certainly be aware of it by now.
Congrats on the new acquisition, it will serve you well.
I would not modify it in anyway, you more likely to damage it then successfully modify it.

Thanks for the help on this situation. I have ordered all the parts you have suggested might be faulty, in addition to several new fuses. I think first step will be to pop in new fuses and make sure I aint chasing my tail. If they pop again I am just going to replace all the parts in the circuit you suggested and go from there.
